Adult cats
Most are chipped, and all are neutered and treated for fleas and worms.
Young ones, old ones, indoor and outdoor cats — we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome lost, stray and abandoned cats across South Bedfordshire.

Based in rural Bedfordshire, we always have beautiful cats of every age, colour, size and personality waiting for loving homes.
Stray cats have often had a very difficult life — hunger, harsh weather, pregnancy, disease and injury. Abandoned cats have their whole world turned upside down. Our aim is to give them safety, care and a second chance.
Stray Cat Rescue was formed in December 2002 to rehome and care for lost, stray and abandoned cats in Luton, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard and surrounding areas. No cat in our care is put down except on veterinary advice in extreme cases of illness or injury.
Every member is a volunteer, supported by our hard-working fundraisers, local vets and generous donations from the public.
We are delighted and honoured to have Simon Tofield, creator of Simon's Cat, as our Patron. Teddy, Maisy, Badger, Willow and Boo all came from us!
We have lots of lovely cats looking for their furever home! We have all sorts — young ones, old ones, indoor and outdoor cats. Please see our Facebook page for details of cats looking for homes. We post weekly videos and pictures on our Facebook page of cats which are ready for rehoming. If you see one you like, please message us on Facebook to start the adoption process.

Meet Chance! Chance is a gorgeous black and white boy who’s around 4 years old. He originally came into our care as an unneutered, unchipped stray, but he’s now been neutered, chipped and is ready to find his forever home. Some of you may remember Chance, as he was recently adopted alongside another of our boys.
Hello everyone, my name is Stacy (because I was found in Stacy bushes Milton Keynes hehe) I arrived with 1 kitten who was around 3 weeks old which I didn’t do the best job at bringing up, but in my defence I’m only a baby myself at 12 months old, I wasn’t ready to be a mum🥺 Since being spayed I’ve really come out of my shell and now enjoy playing with my feathers and eating all the treats.
Hi everyone my name is Sid. I haven’t been with SCR for long so that’s why I might come across as a bit shy, but I’m finding my feet really quickly and settling into a life where I’m finally safe. I was living on the streets before being with SCR over in Bletchley, a lovely lady was feeding me and managed to check that I wasn’t chipped before contacting charities to help me.
Meet beautiful boy Moth! Moth is a gorgeous blue/ white 3-4 year old boy. We aren’t 100% sure of his age. Moth came to us with a split palette so was treated with a wire in his jaw but that’s all out now and he is doing so well, you would never know! He loves a play and is a very distinguished young gentleman. Moth loves a fuss from hoomans and he said he can’t wait to have infinite fuss in his forever home.
Meet the lovely Jeb 🐱 You may have seen his face before, but somehow, he still hasn’t found his furrrever home! Jeb was handed in to us by Great Ashby vet hospital and is 3 years old, neutered and chipped! Jeb seems shy at first but after letting him slowly sniff you, he becomes a lovely affectionate boy. He also lovessssss a licky lick! 👅 Jeb would love to go to a home with garden space and no children.
Hi everyone I’m Moxy, I’m 18m old and I’m ready to find my forever home. I had my 3 babies with SCR and I brought them up in foster alongside my lovely foster human Sheri. They have all found their homes so now it’s my turn to meet my humans and be a kitten myself again. I’d like to be an only cat please and I’d love some outdoor space.
Meet sisters Pawticia and Zelda. The girls were born on the 23rd July 2026 and are looking for a home together. They can be a little shy to start with but as soon as they get to know and trust you they are full of love and head bumps. They came from an owned environment, mum cat had multiple litters but is now spayed so can enjoy it her life without more babies.
Say hello to Fay! Fay is 3 years old and came to us heavily pregnant. Since then we’ve had her spayed and microchipped so she’s ready to find her forever home Fay is such a love bug, she would make a wonderful family pet. She’s gentle and loving and just as cute as can be. She really loves her licky licks and a good old brush.
Meet Miss Lulu Lulu came into our care from Northampton and has been spayed and chipped, having previously had kittens even though she’s just a tiny baby herself. Lulu has been estimated to be about 2-3 years old.
Meet the lovely Starlight! Starlight is a gorgeous black and white girl who’s around 1–2 years old. She came into our care as a stray and is now spayed, microchipped and ready to find herself a lovely new home. This sweet girl is an absolute little darling who loves nothing more than a good fuss! She’s very affectionate and would be more than happy to curl up on a nice warm lap for a snooze.
Hello everybody, my name is Harold and I’m a good boy, sweetie bum, cutie wootie according to Leona… I am 4 years old and was found as a stray within the LU3 area. I’d been loitering around for about 3 months before I managed to get a space at the SCR hotel and I’m just so happy to be in the cosy warm. Since arriving I have been neutered and chipped and tested negative to FIV.
Meet Lilo! Lovely little Lilo is a sweet, gentle girl who just needs a little time to find her confidence. At around 6 years old, Lilo is quite a shy little lady, and meeting new people can be a bit scary at first.
Today I had the pleasure of meeting Autumn and I can’t actually explain how precious and amazing she is. When I went in she was huddled up in a little ball at the back of her pen, but 15 minutes and a stick later and we’d become best friends. Before we get into more about her personality, she’s 3 years old, spayed and chipped and was found as a stray in the AL3 area for a couple of months before arriving with us.
Meet Rory! Well, look who’s back! Our handsome Rory has returned to Stray Cat Rescue, and it seems this big lad has a few opinions about how things should be done! Rory was adopted from us a while ago, but unfortunately things haven’t quite worked out in his previous home. You see, Rory is rather used to being treated like royalty, and he’s not particularly keen on sharing the spotlight with other animals.
Meet Simba! Hi everyone! My name is Simba and I’m just a little baby at 6 months old! I’m a very handsome ginger and white boy (if I do say so myself!) and the humans here tell me I’m an absolute sweetheart. I don’t really know what that means, but I think it’s something to do with how much I love everyone! Being a little kitten, I’ve got lots of important things to do every day.
Heeeeeellloooooo my name is Dasher and I’m a very dashing young man! I am 4 years old and arrive with SCR as my owners moved away around 3 months ago and I was left behind, sigggghhhhh. I was living abit rough until a lovely neighbour figured it out and brought me to SCR. I have since been neutered and chipped and tested negative for FIV.
Hello everyone, my name is Lipton🫡 The ladies told me to re introduce myself because since the other FIV boys have flown the best I’ve been SOOO much happier and now I’m a ✨lap cat✨ I am 5, neuter, chipped and I’m FIV positive so I’ll be looking for an indoor only home.
hello! my name is Brenda & I’m looking for my forever home I’m a lovely lil lady, ever so sweet and loving and I love to chat too! I’m happy with strokes, pick ups, any kind of lovings!! I would make a good family pet as the ladies think I’d be fine with children as I am so gentle.
My name is pawline and I’m a little cutie patooootie. I was a stray since around May time and was picked up and handed into Boness who kindly treated me with some steroids upon arrival as I’d lost all the fur on my back legs. Since my treatment it’s all grown back and I have rather luscious gorgeous fur if I do say so myself.
Meet Olive & Cherry 🫒🍒 These gorgeous girls are on the hunt for their forever home together. They’re about 5 months old, spayed, chipped and up to date with their flea and worming Olive (black) is slightly more confident than Cherry (blue tortie). Olive doesn’t mind a pick up cuddle, lots of fuss and the occasional licky lick whereas Cherry is more shy.
